SIP dialer: call from your browser or any softphone with a real number

Plug your numbers into anything.

Short answer: A SIP dialer is software that places and receives phone calls over the internet using the SIP protocol. With ZuteSIP you get two ways to dial: a browser web dialer that needs no install, and per-number SIP credentials for softphones like Zoiper or MicroSIP and PBX systems like 3CX or FreePBX. Either way, your real number is the caller ID.

Every ZuteSIP number is a standard SIP account. Use the dialer in your dashboard, any softphone, or your company PBX — and forward calls to any phone when you're away from your desk.

Connect in three steps

  1. Add a new SIP account in your softphone or PBX.
  2. Paste the server, username and password from your number's page in the dashboard.
  3. Save. Calls to your number now ring that device, and outgoing calls show your number as caller ID.

What is a SIP dialer?

A SIP dialer is any app that registers to a SIP server with a username and password, then uses that account to make and receive voice calls over the internet. It can be a browser page, a desktop or mobile softphone, or a PBX that serves a whole office. The phone number behind the account decides who you appear as when you call, and where incoming calls ring.

SIP (Session Initiation Protocol) is the open standard most internet telephony uses, which is why one set of credentials works across so many products.

Web dialer: call from your browser

The quickest way to call is the web dialer in your dashboard. Open it, pick any of your numbers as caller ID, allow microphone access, and dial. Nothing is installed, so it works on a borrowed laptop or a locked-down work computer.

Your call logs appear in the dashboard next to the SMS inbox, so calls and texts for each number stay in one place. Use a headset for the best audio, and a wired or stable Wi-Fi connection for long calls.

  1. Sign in with your email and open the web dialer.
  2. Choose the number to use as caller ID.
  3. Allow the browser to use your microphone.
  4. Enter the destination with its country code and press call.

Set up a softphone in five steps

Keep one active registration per number for predictable inbound calls. If you need calls on an ordinary phone too, use call forwarding from the dashboard, which forwards to any phone.

  1. Buy a number in any of 181 countries; most activate within minutes of payment.
  2. Open the number's page and copy its SIP username and password.
  3. Install a SIP app such as Zoiper, MicroSIP or Linphone, or open your PBX admin panel.
  4. Add a new SIP account with the server sip.zutesipdialer.com and those credentials.
  5. Place a test call and call your number from another phone to check inbound ringing.

What each number includes

  • Unlimited incoming calls and unlimited incoming SMS.
  • 1,000 outgoing minutes and 500 outgoing SMS per month.
  • SIP credentials, the web dialer, call forwarding, SMS inbox and call logs.
  • Two-factor authentication and an audit log of sign-ins.
  • From $1.80 per month billed yearly ($21.60 per year), with a 7-day replacement guarantee and a 7-day money-back guarantee if the number hasn't been used.

SIP dialer vs softphone vs predictive dialer

A softphone is one kind of SIP dialer: an app a person uses to make calls by hand. A web dialer is the same idea running in a browser. A predictive or auto dialer is different; it dials lists of numbers automatically and passes answered calls to agents.

ZuteSIP is not a predictive, power or auto dialer. It provides real numbers, SIP credentials and a manual web dialer. Contact-center software such as VICIdial can register a ZuteSIP number as a carrier, and any automatic dialing then comes from that software and must follow the rules that apply to you.

Troubleshooting

  • Registration failed (401/403): the username or password doesn't match. Copy both again from the number's page, check for spaces, and make sure the server is sip.zutesipdialer.com.
  • One-way or no audio: typically NAT. Enable STUN in the app, try TCP transport, and allow the app's RTP ports through your firewall.
  • Silent or instantly dropped calls: a codec mismatch. Enable G.711 µ-law (PCMU) and A-law (PCMA) and put them first.
  • Keypad presses ignored by menus: set DTMF to RFC 2833, or SIP INFO if the other side needs it.
  • Browser dialer has no sound: check the site's microphone permission and your selected input device.

SIP dialer — FAQ

Do I need to install anything to make calls?

No. The web dialer runs in your browser. Installing a softphone is optional if you prefer a desktop or mobile app.

Where do I find my SIP credentials?

On each number's page in the dashboard. Every number has its own SIP username and password.

Which caller ID will people see?

The ZuteSIP number you pick in the web dialer, or the number whose credentials your softphone or PBX uses.

How many minutes are included?

Each number includes 1,000 outgoing minutes per month plus unlimited incoming calls, from $1.80 per month billed yearly ($21.60 per year).

Is ZuteSIP a predictive dialer?

No. It supplies numbers, SIP credentials and a manual web dialer; automatic dialing, if you need it, comes from separate software you connect over SIP.

Can I call emergency numbers?

No. Emergency calls are not supported, so keep another phone available for emergencies.

Does the SIP account support encrypted signaling?

Yes, you can use TLS on port 5061 for SIP signaling. SRTP media encryption is not offered.

How is ZuteSIP different from one-time SMS-code services?

One-time code services rent a number for a single verification code and then take it back. ZuteSIP numbers are long-term numbers you keep for as long as you renew, with incoming calls and SMS, SIP credentials and a web dialer. ZuteSIP doesn't sell one-time codes.

Do you offer an API?

No. Instead, every number comes with SIP credentials, so it works with softphones, PBXs and dialer software — see the setup guides at zutesipdialer.com/integrations.

Can I pay with a card?

Payments are made in USDT or USDC stablecoins on Tron, BNB Smart Chain, Polygon, Base or Solana. Card payments aren't listed as a payment method.
